Tacit Instruction is a course development company with the goal to bring together top educators and professionals and provide them with the resources to teach classes based on their particular area of expertise. Users can browse, book, and even inquire about becoming a partner, all via the website.
Working with the brand colours and existing visual identity, I drafted and developed prototypes that worked directly with an existing Wordpress plugin at the request of the client. I designed around this restriction, with the end goal being to translate this updated design as seamlessly as possible to the plugin, and ensure that the mobile version of the site was as functional and accessible as the desktop version.
Using a grid system to ensure equal spacing amongst cards, photos, text, and banners, I came up with this final card based prototype. This is what was presented to the client and sent off officially to the dev team.
This project was key in helping me understand the ins and outs of Wordpress and how to work with plug-ins. I applied everything I had learned so far by way of systems, instances, libraries, and general design knowledge into this process. Seeing the development happen and the site transition from dated and dysfunctional to fresh and functional was a great learning experience.
